Health
People with albinism in Zimbabwe continue to be at a very high risk in developing skin cancer due to constant exposure to the sun without protection, lack of skin care knowledge and adverse impacts of climate change. On average 3 people with albinism in Zimbabwe are succumbing to skin cancer every month. The main cause of these deaths is late presentation of the cancers to hospital, misdiagnosis at satellite clinics in the rural areas.
The Noble Hands Zimbabwe Trust is on a drive capturing statistics of new cases and deaths to analyse the trend and severity of the epidemic. Free of charge, organisation distributes sunscreen lotions, sunhats, lip balms and conducts health education programmes online and in the communities to mitigate the problem.
Ocular albinism primarily affects the eyes, by reducing the colouring (pigmentation) in the eye, which is essential for normal vision. Ocular albinism causes mild to moderate central vision impairment in most patients. While individuals with this disorder retain some vision, they may be legally blind. This predicament affects children mainly especially in school where in the end if not addressed it impacts literacy and grades.
The Noble Hands Zimbabwe Trust assists children with albinism who have vision impairment with access to information, spectacles, screening and vision acuity corrective devices

Education
Our work on education is to ensure that marginalised children and youths have access to equitable education opportunities through access to stationery, vision impairment aids, payment of school fees and other special educational needs especially to children with albinism. Currently Zimbabwe is faced with inter-sectorial barriers to boys and girls accessing education include household poverty, abuse, remoteness, poor infrastructure and socio-cultural norms. Attrition, insufficient teachers and low capacity, and risks of violence and/or emergencies jeopardize both learning quality and continuity.
